PODCHODY JĘZYKOWE

In October during English lessons we went outside to play PAPER CHASE. This great outdoor game is becoming our school tradition of celebrating EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES.

Chalk marks written on pavements led us  to the nearest park where we found paper letters with hints and tasks.

On every station we had to complete tasks like matching European countries with their flags or guessing riddles about some of the countries.

Some of the tasks were solving rebuses or singing an English song.

Czasami na stacjach czekały nas różne zadania językowe m.in rebusy, wyrazowe układanki lub zaśpiewanie angielskiej piosenki.

Sometimes we had to use the sense fo taste  or show some fitness...

... especially in a final run with    an egg.

... szczególnie podczas finałowego biegu z jajkiem

Bilans podchodów:
Zyski: ciekawa lekcja angielskiego i świetne humory
Straty: 1 jajko :)

Dziękujemy za wspólną zabawę !!!

English is Fun - Master Chef Junior edition

Every year in May our school organises

Interschool English Competition
"English is Fun".

This year's 9th edition was
Master Chef Junior
and was all about
cooking and food.

On 13th May, teams from
5 schools changed into professional chefs. The teams presented themselves and told us shortly about a dish they were going to prepare.

Then they got to work.   Ready, steady, go !

They had only 15 minutes to prepare their specialities. A jury controlled their performance asking questions about their dishes.

Only 1 minute left ....
and here we are !!!
The results of the work were amazing.
Just look at this food...

YUMMY !!!

Birthday cake...
chocolate muffins...
duble decker sandwiches...
tortillas...
tiramisu desserts...
looked delicious.

And the key moment - each school presented their food to the jury members who tasted the food and gave notes.

They were so impressed by your cooking  that all school teams became winners.

Chefs presenting their specialities.

In the second part of the competition students got various tasks about  food and cooking vocabulary such as recognizing flavours, matching kitchen utensils with cooking actions, finding ingredients of some popular dishes, ordering the recipe fragments and recognizing food idioms. The schools surprised us with their knowledge.

The winners of the 9th "English is Fun" are:
1st place School nr 28
2nd place School nr 26
3rd place School nr 9

Congratulations !!!
We hope you enjoyed the time spent in our school.
Once again you proved that English is Fun!

 See you next year :)

Kolejna edycja Międzyszkolnego Konkursu Języka Angielskiego ENGLISH is FUN już za nami. Tegoroczna edycja to Junior Master Chef. 13 maja w naszym konkursie wzięły udział drużyny z 5 szkół, które stanęły przed licznymi wyzwaniami. W pierwszej części uczestnicy przygotowywali wybrane przez siebie danie. Efekty ich pracy były zniewalające. Walory estetyczne i smakowe przygotowanych dań doceniło jury przyznając wygraną wszystkim.

Zwycięzcy 9tej edycji konkursu English is Fun to:
1 miejsce - szkoła nr 28

Alice in Wonderland

Hello!
Alice in Wonderland is a very popular novel not only among children but also adults. This intriguing story is full of strange creatures and unexpected moments.
Read the short passage of it and try to answer the questions.
Bring the answers to your English teachers.

Alice was now in a long, low hall with doors on all sides. They were all locked. In the centre of the hall was a little, three legged glass table, with a tiny golden key lying on it.  It didn't fit any of the doors. Then she saw another door that was only forty centimetres high. The golden key unlocked this door easily. Through the door Alice could see a beautiful garden with green trees and bright flowers. Poor Alice was very unhappy. "What a wonderful garden!" she said to herself but she couldn't even get her head through the doorway. After a while she locked the door again, got up and went back to the glass table. She put the key down and then she saw a little bottle on the table. Around its neck was a paper label with the words "DRINK ME" on it. Alice hesitated a moment but then she drank a little bit very slowly. The taste was very niece, like chocolate and oranges and hot sweet coffee and soon Alice finished the bottle.  "What a strange feeling" said Alice. "I think I'm getting smaller and smaller every second. " and she was. A few minutes later she was only twenty-five centimetres high. And now she could get through the little door into the lovely garden. But the key was still on the glass table and she was too small to reach it. Then she saw a little glass box near her on the floor. She opened it, and found a very small cake with the words EAT ME on it. She ate a bit of a cake. She went on eating and very soon the cake was finished.
"Curiouser and curiouser!" said Alice. "I shall be as tall as a house in a minute." She looked down and her feet seemed to be almost out of sight. "Goodbye feet!" she called.
